1. When you leave the office, your to= e will still likely be numb and will remain so for several hours. When the feeling begins to come ba= ck take your pain medication:

Motrin / Advil / XS Tylenol

as recommended, if needed. If you are having excessive pain t= hat is not relieved by the medication please call the office.

2. Some bleeding is expected with this procedure. If you have excess= ive bleeding that will not stop, please call the office for instructions.

3. Beginning tomorrow, with the banda= ge still in place, soak your foot in a pan of warm (NOT HOT) water and Epsom salts. Use one tablespoon of epsom salts for each quart of water. After a few minutes, the bandage w= ill be loose and should come off very easily.&nbs= p; Soak for 15-20 minutes. Blot dry your toe, apply a small amount of antibiotic ointment (such as Bacitrac= in, Neosporin, etc.) and cover with a fabric bandage. Do not use plastic bandages as the= y will not allow the surrounding skin to breathe.

4. Continue to soak your foot twice e= ach day, morning and evening until instructed to discontinue.

5. Your next appointment will be sche= duled for 1-2 weeks from today’s visit.&nb= sp; If you are having problems before then, please call the office.
